National Anthem
O Canada was composed in French in 1880 by Sir Adolphe Basile Routhier. The English translation was written by Robert Stanely Weir in 1908. Only later, in 1980, was it accepted legally as the national anthem of Canada.

The English Version
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee!

La Version Francaise
O Canada! Terre de nos aieux.
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'epee,
Il sait porter la croix;
Ton histoire est une epopee,
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempee,
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits;
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits.
